comedy

I started doing improv comedy at the Magnet Theater (my heart!) in New York and was hooked! I've taken classes at iO West (RIP), UCBLA, and Second City LA. My improv team Secret Twin won the final Harold competition at iO West and thus shall live as reigning champions in perpetuity. But we still perform around LA. It hasn't gotten to our heads.

I play the cello.

In fact, I went on tour with TONY Award-winning The Acting Company as the cellist and understudy in their production of Polly Teale's Jane Eyre (a play accompanied by solo cello). I was credited as Mina Friedman because, believe it or not, there was already a Debbie Friedman in Actor's Equity (and a Deb Friedman, and a Deborah Friedman...).

I'm from the teeniest state and then I moved to one of the biggest. I met my husband in Los Angeles...and guess where he's from? RHODE ISLAND!

So of course we had to adopt the teeniest dog.
